All White Dresses, Paris.
The girls in this post are from a fashion school in Germany; the top image was taken at Trocadéro but in fact I photographed them at three different locations in Paris (the frames below are a composite). There are a lot of designers who try and crash Fashion Week if you will, trotting models out in front of shows wearing a collection that otherwise would never be seen by the general public, and this is something that disdains street style photographers who are after highly commodifiable looks… usually, stuff like this is either super trashy or just not good at all. But there was something about this crew that made me go the other way. It turns out that each of the girls designed her own all white dress; they had all agreed to design a look using the same materials for continuity in a collection. I thought this was fascinating, and there was some strong attention to detail throughout the pieces. Look, I can’t escape photographing trends and it girls and posting images from some of hottest fashion hubs… But this is the kind of stuff that I originally wanted to get out of bed for. If it’s good, I want to do it justice.
