Spanish label Desigual pulled out what you might expect for there Spring/Summer 2014 presentation at New York Fashion Week. Lots of wild, clashy prints that manage to work together in thoughtful splashes of colour on the runway. But I was rather impressed with the models–dancing and twirling up and down the runway (at one point, the audience started clapping along to the beat). Basically a presentation, but more like a party, Desigual’s strive for positivity in the fashion world was not lost on anyone who got to witness the new collection. As an aside, Desigual was one of the few labels at fashion week to use a diverse range of models (ethnically speaking); a few media outlets have been raising concerns over this lately, so I wanted to make sure I pointed out one label that is clearly doing it right.
