Weekenders, July 4th Edition

No guesses here; I spent this year’s July 4th with a camera in my hand, as it goes for any holiday where I leave the house. This year I made it to Ligeia’s apartment in Brooklyn (Ligeia, by the way, I’ve photographed a few times for the blog) for her annual July 4th party. Actually, she’s invited me the past three years, but this was the first time I managed to make it. I like parties where there’s a diverse group of people getting together for good times; for this occasion Ligeia and her neighbours made a whole block of it, as the entire building, from the backyard, up all floors and to the roof was one continuous party. Even the neighbours on their roofs joined in a little bit. The vantage for fireworks wasn’t the cleanest, but from their location we were able to simultaneously see the show from the Statue of Liberty and the show up the Harlem/Bronx/Queens side. Not bad.
