So here’s a story: When I saw this young man in London, I kept thinking, ‘I’ve seen him before . . . I’ve seen him before.’ It was really gnawing at me for a few days . . . for two whole weeks actually. Then one day I’m in Paris talking with some friends at lunch and BING it just hit me. I’d seen him on The Sartorialist. One thing that I can say with absolute certainty is that photographing over this past year has greatly improved my recall and recognition skills. In New York for instance, a city with millions of people, I can spot people that I’ve photographed for the blog over a block away–I just know right away now. Granted, this one took me a while . . . but in my defence I didn’t photograph him the first time.
