Broadway, New York.

I saw this splendidly cool woman at the corner of Prince and Broadway. She rounded the corner with traffic and in a split-second decision I let her go. Took five steps and thought to myself, ‘Stupid!!!’ So I turned round and started after her. Thing is, she was tall (we were the same height) and her stride was so long and swift that I had to morph into a gallop to catch her. I finally stopped her just short of spring street and sort of panted out a greeting. She said, “I didn’t make you run too hard, did I?”
