Tiffany Atlas Party feat. THEFASHIONGUITAR

A couple of weeks back, I got a ping from Charlotte Groeneveld of THEFASHIONGUITAR who asked if I’d be interested in hanging out with her at a secret event. Of course, secret events are super high on my list of likes, so how could I refuse? It turned out that the event in question was a private Tiffany Atlas party at their Soho store location, and they had asked Charlotte to help host.

The occasion was for unveiling the latest pieces in Tiffany’s famed Atlas collection for the new season. New bangles and necklaces featuring the trademark Roman numerals that accentuate the pieces are still in order, but it was the first time I’d been up close to see them for myself.

Sleek and classic are words that would aptly describe the collection, but I was impressed but how light they appeared on the wrist, despite their somewhat gaudy specs. The bangles effectively come in two types, the more traditional ‘flat’ bangle in narrow, medium and wide open sizes, and the super modern bangle that rests vertically on the wrist like the ring of Saturn (Charlotte is wearing both bangle types in the opposite frame).

Quick tangent: On the whole, I’m a big fan of the design, and have loved big, circular pieces on the ends of necklaces since I was young boy obsessing over what I still consider to be the greatest cartoon of all time.

As for the party, as usual the photos speak for themselves. It was an elegant crowd. I’ve been to plenty highbrow soirées, but there were some looks on this night that quite impressed, particularly Glamour magazine’s Jillian Davison and Gretchen Gunlocke Fenton who were just the epitome of class and, shoutout to Gretchen for arriving in Tiffany colours.

And in case you’re wondering, Charlotte is probably one of the friendliest fashionistas I know. While you generally can’t go wrong with the Dutch (why Amsterdam is still wildly underrated despite the fact that many people rave about it), I feel like it’s my mission to go on record whenever someone in the world of fashion comes across as pleasant a human being as she does. Charlotte completely gushed when I asked her how her kids were doing, and her reaction when I’d asked her if she’d ever had [anything that expensive] on her wrist before, while I can’t articulate, was just priceless.

That’s all for today, onto the photos.

Enjoy!
