This past weekend, I travelled with my friends and colleagues out of state to participate in the Tough Mudder competition. It’s a 12-mile obstacle course that combines fitness, strength and a bit of courage. My team elected to complete the course as a unit, and it took six hours, which would have been a surprise to me had I not been there to experience it for myself. The competition makes running marathons look easier. While I kept up with most of my team’s fitness regime leading up to the event (which varied–a lot, actually), there were still some performances that frankly shocked me for the better. All in all, they’re a great group of mates and I’m proud of them.
