Emerson was on a purple reign during New York Fashion Week — Prince would have been proud.
With the purple shade featuring heavily on Jackie Fraser Swan’s Emerson collection for Spring/Summer 2014, one can’t help but feel a little rock and roll about this. With three distinct concepts floating down the runway (digital floral print, monochrome, and what I would sort of refer too as a fire-cut), it was really the floral prints that brought out the best in the pieces. While the print has been around for a couple of seasons now, Swan elected to let the foliage sit with far more detail that I’ve previously seen on the street–the result almost gives the dresses more texture than it has, but this optical illusion is a good thing.
